FilmFreeway is inviting all filmmakers to take part in competition of the Weimar Poetry Film Award the Literary Society of Thuringia and the Weimar Animation Club are looking for innovative poetry films. Filmmakers from any nation and of any age are welcome to participate with up to three short films of up to 10:00 mins, which should explore the relation between film and written poetry in an innovative, straightforward way. Films that are produced before 2018 will not be considered.

Prizes and awards:
From all submitted films selected for the festival competition three Jury members will choose the winner of the main awards (Best animation, 1200 €; Best video, 1200 €). Moreover, an audience award of 250 € will be awarded.
Eligibility criteria
- The Weimar Poetry Film Award call for entries is international. For the submission, a filled in and signed entry form (in case you submit by e-mail; you find it on https://poetryfilmtage.de), a viewing copy (upload on FilmFreeway or a link to a preview), film stills, synopsis, a quotable text of the related poem in German or English as well as the directorʼs short bio/filmography and the writerʼs biography/publication list in German or English.
- If the original version of the film is in another language than English, than the screening copy should be subtitled in English.
- Responsibility
- I am responsible for the acquisition of the rights and explicitly exempt the organizer from possible legal recourse regarding unauthorized usage.
- I permit the LGT to use various clips for PR-purposes.
- I permit the LGT to use my work for the production of showreels for PR-purposes of the festival.
- I permit the broadcast of clips of my work on television.
- I permit the publication of clips of my work on the Internet.
- I understand that the film will also be shown in the additional program. I permit the storage of application material in the festival-archive.
