Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) is accepting applications for the USM Graduate Scholarship 2026, a scholarship designed to support outstanding students who wish to pursue full-time, research-based postgraduate programs in Malaysia.
The scholarship aims to attract high-achieving Malaysian and international students and encourage them to join the university’s research programs by providing tuition fee coverage for the first and second semesters, while also promoting research productivity and academic publication among postgraduate students at USM.

Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for the scholarship, international applicants must:
- Hold a Full Admission Offer Letter from Universiti Sains Malaysia for a research-based PhD program.
- Not have started full-time registration in the program yet.
- Apply for a full-time PhD by Research program.
- Hold a coursework-based or mixed-mode master’s degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.33 out of 4.00, or hold a research-based master’s degree or another recognized equivalent qualification.
- Have at least one published research paper in a journal indexed in Web of Science, Scopus, or ERA.
