UAEU is offering the “PhD Fellowship” to recruit high-achieving graduate students in certain majors at UAEU and provide them with full and continuous financial support to pursue their graduate studies at UAEU.
Benefits
Full Package:

- Extra Bonus:
- Up to AED 3,000 from the supervisor’s external research project, or
- Up to AED 2,000 from the supervisor’s internal research project.
Basic Package:
- Full tuition waiver.
- Health insurance (if needed).
- Additional work (optional) as Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) or Graduate Administrative Assistant (GAA) up to 20 hours per week upon availability by the College or College of Graduate Studies (up to AED 4,000).
Eligibility criteria
- Have a GPA ≥ of 3.3/4.0 in a Master's degree.
- Have no employment or other financial sponsorship.
- Have dissertation in one of the UAE priority sectors (Renewable Energy, Transportation, Health, Water, Technology, Space).
- Meet the PhD admission requirements.
Duties and Expectations:
- Maintain GPA ≥ 3.0 at the PhD level.
- Be enrolled full-time (min. of 9 credits/semester).
- Be available at UAEU full time.
- The student must commit to allocating at least 40 hours per week as follows:
- During the first three semesters of registration: 35 hours per week for a study lecture and/or research project + 5 hours per week for work as a Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) or Graduate Student Administrative Assistant (GAA)
- After the third semester of registration: 30 hours per week for a study lecture and/or research project + 10 hours per week for work as a Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) or Graduate Student Administrative Assistant (GAA)
The PhD Fellowship Awards are based on competitive criteria which take into account the credentials of the applicants (i.e. GPA, journal publications, conference presentations, patents, GRE score, recommendation letters, etc.) and where they have graduated from. Applicants are requested to submit copies of all their credentials at the time of application submission.
