Online Volunteer Opportunity in the Field of Communications Support for Global Week of Act4SDGs for the 2023 (TikTok Content Creation)

UN Volunteer offers an online volunteer opportunity in the field of communications support for the 2022 Global Week to Act4SDGs (TikTok content creation) which will be held in Germany. The organization is seeking creative and ambitious volunteers to help tell the #FlipTheScript story to TikTok’s unique demographic and drive action for the Sustainable Development Goals during the Global Week to #Act4SDGs which will be held from 16 to 25 September 2022. You will have the opportunity to harness the power of creativity and storytelling through videos to spark a positive change in the world. You will make from 1 to 5 TikTok videos/social media posts for the time period leading up to and during Global Week.

• The United Nations SDG Action Campaign is a special initiative of the UN Secretary-General administered by the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and mandated to support the UN system-wide and the Member States on advocacy and public engagement in the SDG implementation.
• Building on innovative and impactful engagement techniques deployed since 2002, the UN SDG Action Campaign intends to create awareness about the 2030 Agenda, empower and inspire people across the world to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) while generating political will, and help make the Goals attainable by 2030.
• The UN SDG Action Campaign catalyzes advocacy and engagement, bringing together diverse actors and partners. Through compelling, creative SDG outreach and communications strategies, the UN SDG Action Campaign supports and serves the UN Member States and the UN system. It links organizations from civil society, local governments, think tanks, the arts and culture, the media, and the business world. It mobilizes individuals to champion the SDGs in homes, communities, and beyond. With the pandemic, the Ukrainian war and climate, and economic and social disruptions sweeping the globe, 2022 is a pivotal year for transformational changes. This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to reset and create a better future.
• This September, millions of people across the world will join together, while world leaders meet at the UN General Assembly, to make this a turning point for people and the planet. The Global Week to #ActforSDGs is a global call to people and organizations everywhere in the world to take action for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

You must have:

1. Experienced in TikTok content creation.
2. Aware of best practices for TikTok (including trends, hashtags, functionalities, and music usage).
3. Excellent at thinking outside the box.
4. Self-sufficient at creating content posting schedules and posting content on time.
5. Your own computer and stable connection to the internet, as this role is remote.
6. Interested in communication.
7. Fluent in English (C2 level). Other languages are a strong asset.
8. Available approximately 5-10 hours per week from 20 August to 30 September 2022.
9. You will be awarded a volunteer appreciation certificate upon successful completion of the assignment. Create, film, and edit video content to post.
10. Generate ideas for content to post on the official @SDGAction TikTok account.
11. Stay on top of recent platform trends and how they could be used to promote.
12. Understand the UN brand guidelines to ensure content is consistent with the messaging.
