The Ericsson Innovation Awards are now available for innovators all over the world. The digital revolution has transformed the world, enriching our lives in countless ways. Yet half the planet lives without access to the tools, information and resources that many of us rely on every day. Participate in this challenge and find technology solutions that can help solve these major challenges. Now is the time to develop your idea to give it the best chance of having an impact by entering the Ericsson Innovation Awards (EIA).
Challenge Theme:-
- As the world becomes increasingly reliant on technology, the digital divide is growing. Economic, geographic, gender and access factors have left vast portions of the global population at a severe disadvantage.
- The causes are many, including lack of infrastructure, resources and the high cost of devices.
- Your challenge is to identify a digital divide and develop a solution to bridge it.
Benefits
- Semi-finalists: Each of the seven Regional Winners will receive:
- €1,000 cash prize
- In some cases, additional special recognition and prizes are offered within your respective regions.
- All 14 Semi-finalists – including the seven Regional Winners - will receive:
- Seven weeks of mentorship from Ericsson experts in innovation and business.
- Recognition on Ericsson social and digital media.
- The possibility of Ericsson recruiter interviews (if any suitable positions are available at the time).
- Certificate of achievement.
- Finalists- all three Finalist teams will receive:
- An invitation to the Ericsson Innovation Awards Grand Final.
- An additional four weeks of mentorship.
- Recognition across Ericsson social media and digital channels.
- Cash prizes, as outlined below (with the Swedish taxes paid by Ericsson)
- Grand Prize Winner: €25,000.
- 2nd Place: €15,000.
- 3rd Place: €5,000.
- Bonus: Social Media Prize: €2,000.
Eligibility criteria
- A complete registration must include a grouping of 2-4 university students.
- To qualify, each team member must be pursuing a higher vocational or academic degree (undergraduate, graduate, or doctorate), and graduating on or after the end date of the Semi-finalist period (13th September 2021).
- Each primary team member may only submit 1 registration. Additional team members may submit additional registrations with a different primary team member. However, each student may only be a member of 1 team in the regional winner, semi-finalist and finalist phases.
- Submissions connected to a startup or business must be student-owned and not funded by a non-academic company, agency or organization.
Submissions Guidelines:-
- Innovations come in all sizes, from simple changes in code that could redefine the networks of the future to complex technological advances that will advance humanitarian efforts across the world.
- Ericsson is looking for your inspired technology solutions that can help solve today’s major challenges.
