The Visual Art Open competition is now available for artists who want to participate from any place in the world. This competition is a not-for-profit event open to both amateur and professional artists. The aim is to give artists the ultimate platform to develop their passion and career in the arts sector. Finalists will benefit from exhibiting, selling and showcasing their work to art critics and buyers alike.

There are five key categories for entrants to apply to:
- Painting & Mixed Media & Printmaking.
- Illustration & Drawing.
- Sculpture.
- Photography / Digital Art.
- Young Artist (16 - 24 years old).

Eligibility criteria
Artists are only permitted to enter 5 artworks into the competition at a cost of £20 for 1st submission and £10 per additional artwork, totalling a maximum of £60. Young Artists under the age of 24 pay £15 for 1st submission and £10 per additional artwork, totalling a maximum of £55 for 5 artworks entered.

The Visual Art Open (VAO) is a platform open to both amateur and professional artists, working in one or more of the following media: drawing, printing, painting, photography, digital art and sculpture. VAO aims to give UK and International visual artists the ultimate platform to develop their passion and career in the arts sector. The awards permit artists to build sustained and strategic partnerships with art galleries and creative practitioners. Finalists at VAO competitions will benefit from exhibiting, selling and showcasing their work to art critics and art buyers alike.
