Opportunity description

The Scottish Arts Club, based in Edinburgh, Scotland, announces the 2025 Edinburgh Award for Flash Fiction. The competition is open to writers worldwide who are over 16 years old.

Entries can be on any theme or subject but must be original and written in English and suitable for adult readers. The maximum length is 250 words, excluding the title. Entries must not have been previously published in print or online, broadcast, or won a prize.

Entry Fee: £10 per story.

Prizes:

  • First prize: £2,000
  • Second prize: £500
  • Third prize: £250

The top twenty stories will be published in the anthology.
